Job summary

Finlink Group in Brantford, Ontario is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives, build strategic partnerships, and translate market insights into revenue.

You will identify opportunities, manage the BD pipeline from lead to contract, mentor the team, and collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling solutions while traveling for client meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or a closely related field.
• Ability to uncover market opportunities, build growth plans, and navigate complex deals.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and overseeing projects from planning to completion.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with data-driven decision making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related; a graduate degree would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work on-site in Canada and travel as required for business meetings and industry engagements.
• History of delivering revenue or growth objectives with solid planning, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities while developing strategies that support long-term organizational growth.
• Build and strengthen relationships with prospective and existing clients, strategic partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, and other business development materials that effectively communicate the organization’s value proposition.
• Research market conditions, assess industry developments, and use emerging trends to inform growth strategies and service offerings.
• Manage the business development pipeline, from opportunity identification through negotiation and contract completion.
• Establish revenue and growth objectives, monitor results, and use performance data to guide business development activities.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to coordinate projects and bring new opportunities from initial concept through execution.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their development and overall effectiveness.
• Represent the organization professionally at industry events, client meetings, and other relevant business forums.
