Job summary

Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is hiring casual, on-call Student Supervision Assistants for the Primary School for the 2026-27 school year. The positions cover absences and support grades 1–5 classrooms, including supervision on playgrounds and during meals and rest periods.

Responsibilities include implementing the daily program, assisting with activities, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and leading before- or after-school programming.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education certification with Level 1 Child Care Worker required.
• Valid Standard Level B (Childcare) First Aid certification.
• Fluent spoken French is an asset, not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide thorough and active supervision of students at all times, and developmentally appropriate behavioural guidance on the playground and in the school.
• Supervise outdoor play, snack, rest, and mealtimes.
• Assist in the implementation of the daily program and instructional activities.
• Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Support children’s ongoing development and growth, in alignment with best practices in French immersion education.
• Lead and implement before- or after-school programming for students in preschool to Grade 6.
• Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty to CFIS.
• Participate in professional workshops or courses.
• Maintain confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees inside and outside of the school; and
• Other duties as needed.

PositionDescription:

CFIS is seeking candidates for Casual, On-Call Student Supervision Assistant positions in our primary division for the 2026-27school year. The successful candidateswill cover absences of our regular Student Supervision Assistants and will workwith students in our grades 1 to 5 classrooms.

Compensation:

Theposition will be paid hourly as per the CFIS Hourly paygrid basedon relevant education and experience.
