Job summary

W̱SÁNEĆ School Board is seeking an On-Call SENĆOŦEN Education Assistant to support planning, implementation, and evaluation of student needs from Nursery to Grade 12. Roles may rotate within levels based on qualifications and requirements, including level-specific duties and direct support to students with special needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with individual and small-group instruction, following teacher guidance, and contributing to a safe, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• EA Level 1 requires Grade 12 dogwood certificate or GED.
• EA Level 2 requires Grade 12 and TA certificate/diploma in related area and one year related experience or related certificate.
• EA Level 3 requires Grade 12 dogwood certificate, certificate or diploma plus a special needs educator certification.
• SENĆOŦEN EA: must have participated in the SENĆOŦEN Language Authority Assessment.
• Valid First Aid Certificate, CPR and Criminal Record Check for Level 1 & 2.
• May require BC Class 5 Driver's License for Level 1 & 2.
• May require appropriate First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, and evaluation of students' needs in a classroom or individually.
• Deliver targeted educational and behavioral support to students with disabilities or complex needs.
• Provide intensive educational support and may include speech therapy; assignments may shift based on student needs.
