Job summary

Casual Education Assistant 2 (on call work) in Mackenzie is a role that supports the classroom under the teacher's direction. You assist small groups and individuals with academic and behavioural tasks, monitor students during breaks, and help implement education plans.

Responsibilities include health procedures, equipment setup, material prep, attending conferences, recording observations, and supporting field trips and events, while maintaining safety, confidentiality, and positive student

Qualifications

• Grade twelve education and relevant college courses in learning/behavioural issues.
• At least one year of experience with exceptional needs students.
• Ability to perform child-specific behaviour management techniques.
• May require BC driver's license and experience with specific exceptionalities.
• Strong communication and collaboration with learning teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist small groups or individuals with academic and behavioural tasks per education plan.
• Monitor and assist students during breaks, lunch, and transition periods.
• Perform health procedures as directed and administer medications as assigned.
• Prepare instructional materials and participate in conferences with parents.
• Observe, record, and score student progress; maintain confidentiality.
• Support school activities, events, and field trips; supervise buses as needed.
