Job summary

This role supports a Reggio-inspired program, provides nurturing care for 3-5 year olds, and contributes to a collaborative, professional JK team. The successful candidate will hold a valid ECE certificate, knowledge of BC licensing, First Aid/CPR, clear criminal record, and the ability to plan engaging, inclusive activities while communicating effectively with families

Qualifications

• Valid Early Childhood Education certificate.
• Knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Clear BC Criminal Record Check.
• Immunization records up to date.
• Experience in licensed childcare settings (minimum 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide a rich, engaging environment for children aged 3-5, supporting well-being, exploration, languages, and social development.
• Build meaningful relationships and a responsive caring environment.
• Use developmentally appropriate guidance to foster positive self-concept.
• Plan and evaluate inclusive, age-appropriate activities aligned with the Reggio-inspired approach.
• Observe, document, and reflect on children's abilities and needs according to practices.
• Communicate progress with parents and staff, including meetings and newsletters.
• Maintain health and safety standards in the JK environment.
• Mentor practicum students and support field trips.
