Delta Christian School is seeking qualified and caring On-Call Junior Kindergarten Teachers to provide coverage as needed throughout the school year.

Our Junior Kindergarten program serves four-year-old children in a nurturing, play-based Christian learning environment. The program supports children’s social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and cognitive development while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

The Role

On-call Junior Kindergarten Teachers provide substitute coverage when regular program staff are absent. Responsibilities may include:

• Providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
• Following established classroom routines, plans, and activities
• Supporting play-based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Supporting students with transitions, outdoor play, meals, and daily routines
• Maintaining appropriate supervision and classroom expectations
• Supporting the Christian mission, vision, and values of Delta Christian School

Qualifications

Successful candidates must:

• Hold a current Early Childhood Educator (ECE) licence in British Columbia
• Have experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, school, or similar setting
• Demonstrate warmth, patience, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills
• Work collaboratively as part of a team
• Be committed to the Christian faith and actively participate in a Christian church community
• Support the mission, vision, and Christian educational philosophy of Delta Christian School
• Be available for occasional work, sometimes on short notice

A satisfactory criminal record check will be required as a condition of employment.
