Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association in Robson Valley is seeking a Casual Early Childhood Educator (on call) to organize, prepare and facilitate play-based early learning programs for children aged 0-5, aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework and StrongStart BC guidelines.

You will collaborate with teachers, parents and district staff to support transitions to kindergarten, maintain detailed records, and participate in program planning and reporting within the district's

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• Current BC ECE certification.
• Foodsafe certification.
• Training and/or experience (1 year) with children aged 0-5.
• Experience working with parents/guardians.
• Knowledge of child development, family dynamics and community resources.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; culturally sensitive.
• Intermediate knowledge of computer programs.
• Class 5 driver's license.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain programs aligns with the Early Learning Framework and StrongStart BC guidelines.
• Maintain detailed daily records using designated records program.
• Produce reports and work plans in cooperation with the District.
• Set up and operate the Early Learning Program and initiatives as designated.
• Ensure activities reflect child development stages and promote healthy learning.
• Encourage parent participation and assist referrals to community services.
• Collaborate with school staff to support smooth transitions to kindergarten.
• Work with teachers, EC Educators and district staff to support play-based learning.
• Attend meetings as required.
