Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call Delivery Agent in Summerside, PEI. You will sort and prepare deliveries in the depot, then drive a Canada Post vehicle and deliver mail and packages on your route, by foot or vehicle. The role requires working outside in all weather and being available on-call.

Salary is hourly at 25.37 CAD, with opportunities for permanent employment as you grow with the company. English or French language ability is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class5 or ClassG driver's licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• Physically able to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all types of weather.
• Availability to be on-call.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Start the day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Spend most of the day outside delivering mail and packages on the route.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages.
