Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) is seeking an Oil Sands Royalty Analyst in Calgary to support OSR royalty reporting for multiple oil sands projects. You will collaborate with operations and finance teams, prepare monthly and annual statements, and help manage OSR project expansions.

The role requires a related university degree with an accounting designation, strong Excel/ERP skills, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

  • University degree and accounting designation.
  • Familiarity with Excel and EnterpriseOne or similar ERP software.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently within a team.
  • Experience in oil and gas industry; familiarity with Alberta Energy Oil Sands Royalty Regulations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and prepare monthly OSR project royalty reports.
  • Analyze and prepare annual OSR project End-of-Period Statements.
  • Coordinate and prepare responses for OSR royalty audits.
  • Prepare OSR royalty forecasts.
  • Coordinate and prepare applications for new OSR projects and expansions to approved OSR projects.
  • Assist in the completion of special projects.

The Oil Sands Royalty Analyst is a member of the Oil Sands Royalty Group, completing the OSR royalty reporting for the OSR projects located within our extensive mining, thermal, Exploration and Production (E&P) oil sands asset base. You will have the unique opportunity to work with various operations and finance teams at Canadian Natural, while also broadening your oil sands industry knowledge.

  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta
  • Work schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts

Key Accountabilities
  • Analyze and prepare monthly OSR project royalty reports
  • Analyze and prepare annual OSR project End-of-Period Statements
  • Coordinate and prepare responses for OSR royalty audits

What You Bring To The Role
  • Related University Degree and Accounting Designation
  • Familiarity with and understanding of:
    • Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
    • EnterpriseOne or similar Enterprise Resource Planning software
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and familiarity with the Alberta Energy Oil Sands Royalty Regulations considered an asset
