Job description

The Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA) is the self-governing professional association that is responsible for licensing and regulating the practice of architecture in Nova Scotia. Established in 1932 and mandated under The Architects Act, the NSAA protects the public interest through the regulation of architects and architectural firms across the province. The Association oversees licensure, professional standards, continuing professional development requirements, and regulatory compliance to protect the public and advance the professional practice of architecture.

The Opportunity

As the NSAA continues to evolve its regulatory programs, modernize its systems, and enhance its services, the organization is seeking an Officer, Internship in Architecture Program (IAP) and Renewals to join its team.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Officer, IAP and Renewals plays a key role in supporting the Nova Scotia Association of Architects' regulatory mandate. As the primary point of contact for Intern Architects, members, and architectural firms, you will manage all aspects of the Internship in Architecture Program and related pre-licensure processes and oversee annual member and corporate permit renewal processes.

Working within a small and highly collaborative team, you will manage regulatory records, support continuing education compliance requirements, communicate with members, and help ensure programs and processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with legislative and professional requirements.

This role also offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to process improvement and modernization initiatives, helping the NSAA strengthen workflows, enhance data management practices, and improve the experience of members and applicants.
