This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization.
We are currently looking for a Summer Student to fill the position of Office Receptionist, joining our team of committed professionals. This full-time, summer position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Employment and Immigrant Services Office at 132 - 10 Elm Street in Sudbury.
Under the leadership of the Program Supervisor of Employment Services, the Office Receptionist manages day to day office matters in accordance with YMCA charitable purpose, vision, and values.
START DATE: June 30, 2025
LOCATION: 10 Elm Street, Sudbury, Ontario
RATE OF PAY: $18.00 / hour
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Major Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of telephone contact for clients, guests, the public, etc. and provide information or redirect as required
- Provide a welcoming environment for all who enter the agency and direct as appropriate
- Acknowledge everyone that comes to the desk
- Provide consistently prompt and courteous service
- Assist in managing day-to-day office and administration procedures
- Ensure adequate stock of the inventory of supplies as required
- Ensure that all confidential information is properly protected
- Actively promote YMCA NEO, its programming, and its current promotions
- Other duties as assigned by the Association
Qualifications
- Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an office setting
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service
- Verbal and written communication skills (in both official languages an asset)
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
