Down East Hospitality Incorporated was established in 1987. We are an independent franchise who own and operate 9 Tim Hortons restaurants across HRM, our head office is in Dartmouth, NS.

We are an enthusiastic, diverse and hospitality-focused team who share Tim Hortons passion for delivering the exceptional guest experience. Our team supports and assists the Restaurant Managers in the day-to-day management of restaurant operations.

Job Description :

The Bookkeeper / Office Manager is responsible for all financial operations for the company including, but not limited to;

  • Process payroll (approximately 200 employees), having close communication with restaurant managers regarding vacation pay requests, training hours, overtime, etc.
  • Accounts receivable and payable
  • Bank reconciliation, general bookkeeping tasks, invoicing, quotes, purchase orders and inventory
  • Generate financial reports including cash flow, gross / net margins and other reports as required
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems on your own
  • Cash auditing of each restaurant on a monthly basis
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and communication skills
  • Work closely with the Office Administrator
  • Maintain a clean and organized office space

  • Have 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, or office management required. We are willing to hire new collage / university graduate
  • Experience working with Ceridian payroll system is an asset
  • Experience working with delivery companies (Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, Door Dash) is an asset
  • Strong computer proficiency with experience in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work legally in Canada
