Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority seeks a Rehabilitation Consultant in Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness to actively manage employees on absence due to illness or injury and to facilitate safe, timely returns to work.

The role requires a health-related degree, professional college status, and at least two years in disability management, with strong communication and organizational skills to support compliant RTW plans.

Qualifications

• Requires a post-secondary health-related degree and current/proper professional college membership.
• Two years’ experience in disability management or related field.
• Experience with functional abilities assessments and return-to-work processes.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (OHSA, Human Rights Code, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Manage employees absent due to illness or injury and coordinate documentation for benefits.
• Assess workplaces and positions for employees with limitations and support safe return-to-work.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to facilitate timely RTW and compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disability management practices and applicable legislation.
