Job summary

Upper Canada District School Board is accepting applications for Occasional Custodians. The custodian will maintain the appearance of the building and operate a specific worksite under supervision, and will join a larger team across several schools within the district.

Qualifications include a secondary school diploma and at least six months of cleaning/general maintenance experience in a school facility. Some certifications (BES, water treatment, WHMIS, etc.) are assets.

Qualifications

• A secondary school diploma is required.
• A minimum of six months cleaning and general maintenance experience in a school facility is required.
• Demonstrated experience in small equipment repair and maintenance is an asset.
• The successful candidate may be required to obtain specific courses and/or certifications relevant to his or her worksite(s) within a specific period after hiring and/or during the period of employment.
• Enrolment in or successful completion of BES courses are an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the appearance of the building and operate the assigned worksite.
• Work as a member of a larger custodial team across multiple worksites and schools.
