The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a dedicated obstetrical nurse to join our maternity care team. You will provide compassionate nursing support for obstetrical patients and newborns, collaborating with physicians, midwives, and support staff to ensure exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Three (3) months of recent Birthing Unit experience.
• Current BCLS and NRP certification as per the College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
• Theoretical knowledge of the care of obstetrical patients and newborns, and ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the nursing process.
• Demonstrates a desire and ability to participate in patient teaching.
• Demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to patients, to the public and to colleagues.
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team.
• Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities.
• Demonstrates understanding of and participation in the evaluation process.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the continuous quality improvement activities.
• Demonstrates understanding of and willingness to facilitate clinical research activities into patient care.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
