Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre seeks a Registered Nurse for the Birthing Unit to provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care. The role requires current RN registration, BLS certification, and NRP, with 2–3 years of obstetric experience.

Advanced English/French bilingualism is required; commitment to patient- and family-centered care, documentation, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting is essential. AODA and CRC/VSC checks apply.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate for Health Care Providers within the last 12 months.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience caring for antenatal, labour, birth, postpartum and newborn patients (within last 1–2 years).
• Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required.
• Current certifications: IV Therapy, Fetal Health Surveillance, Cervical Examinations, Epidural Care, Breastfeeding Education (WHO Level I course), Peri-Operative Role for Caesarean Section (scrub and circulating).
• Commitment to family-centered maternity care and strong communication skills.

Certification/Experience/Knowledge

• Current Certificate of Registration ~ College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) certificate required (within the last twelve months)
• Minimum (2-3 years) experience caring for antenatal, labour, birth, postpartum and newborn patients (within the last 1-2 years) required
• Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
• Current certifications required:

• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
