Thales Canada is seeking an Obsolescence Co-op/Intern in Ottawa, hybrid schedule. The role supports reliability and obsolescence management, tracking obsolescence risks, and contributing to lifecycle improvements.

The candidate will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to cross-functional teams, while developing analysis and documentation skills in a leading technology environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a relevant college or university program (Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Reliability Engineering, or related discipline).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with guidance.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Prior knowledge or coursework related to reliability engineering or obsolescence management is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking and monitoring component obsolescence within product lifecycles.
• Support evaluation and implementation of alternative components to mitigate obsolescence impact.
• Participate in data gathering and analysis related to component reliability and obsolescence trends.
• Help maintain up-to-date documentation and reports for obsolescence management activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and supply chain to support obsolescence mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within Reliability and Obsolescence processes.
• Support investigation and root cause analysis of reliability issues linked to obsolescence.
