Job summary

Thales Ottawa is seeking an Obsolescence Specialist to provide ILS engineering and analysis focused on software application obsolescence. You will develop plans, manage dependencies, and coordinate with SMEs to track and mitigate obsolescence across systems.

This role requires liaising with stakeholders, maintaining artefacts in a CWE, and delivering monthly progress reports. A strong background in ILS, licensing, and software dependencies is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience performing ILS activities (5+ years).
• Proficient in Excel data management and licensing methods.
• Strong stakeholder liaison and vendor management.
• Degree in Engineering, CS, or related technologist diploma.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Obsolescence Management Plan for software obsolescence.
• Create centralized list of software dependencies for CIs in the SBS.
• Develop obsolescence information including patching cycles and licensing changes.
• Produce artefacts for continuous tracking in CWE; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate inputs with Authorized Technical Representative and other teams.
• Schedule inputs and manage delivery timelines for artefacts.
• Attend Risk Review Meetings and discuss risks and interdependencies.
• Implement approved artefact changes; track progress; report to client; monthly updates.
• Lead monthly Obsolescence Meetings and apply ILS methods to mitigate obsolescence.
