Job summary

Durham College invites applications for a full-time Professor to teach in the Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program at Oshawa campus. Responsibilities include delivering hybrid and online courses, developing curricula, and applying inclusive teaching practices across diverse student cohorts.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Nursing with a relevant PhD as an asset, at least five years of post-secondary teaching experience, and a strong commitment to equity, inclusion,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (relevant PhD asset).
• Minimum of five years of recent and relevant work experience.
• Clinical expertise in acute medicine; simulation-based learning is an asset.
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with UDL principles and current assessment methodologies.
• Experience with industry-led or community-based applied research is an asset.
• Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action; equity, diversity and inclusion; fostering positive student experience.
• Experience using current technologies to support student learning and grade management.
• Lifelong learning mindset with ability to work with various stakeholders.
• Understanding of Ontario college and university systems.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive learning environment accommodating diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
• Utilize adult education principles to engage students in the learning process.
• Use educational technologies to support learning, manage grades, and deliver hybrid/online courses.
• Develop curriculum using appropriate strategies and tools to assess student learning.
• Ensure curricula are current and relevant across courses and programs.
• Work independently with initiative and collaborate with program teams and partners.
• Collaborate with students, faculty, support staff, administrators and community partners.
