Job summary

Oulton College is seeking a qualified Nursing Faculty member to deliver didactic courses within the BScN program. This full-time permanent position may consider a part-time contract arrangement for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will develop clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and practical skills through theory and lab instruction, with opportunities for professional development and benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing required.
• Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse with a provincial regulatory body.
• Recent clinical experience is required.
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver course content through lectures and hands-on lab sessions.
• Facilitate student learning using varied teaching methods.
• Integrate theory with health science concepts to support clinical decision-making.
• Guide students in applying nursing processes of care.
• Promote evidence-informed practice and clinical reasoning.
• Grade assignments, exams and activities and provide timely feedback.

Job description

Oulton College is seeking a qualified and passionate Nursing Faculty member to deliver various didactic courses within our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program.

This is a full-time permanent position; however, we are open to considering a part-time contract arrangement if it better suits the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will support students in developing clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and practical skills through both theory instruction and lab instruction (if needed).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver course content through lectures and hands-on lab sessions
• Facilitate student learning through various learning methods
• Integrate nursing theory with health science concepts to support clinical decision-making
• Guide students in applying the nursing processes of care
• Promote the use of evidence-informed practice and clinical reasoning

Requirements

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing
• Current registration (or eligibility) with a provincial nursing regulatory body as a Registered Nurse
• Recent clinical experience
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level, with demonstrated ability to engage and support degree-level learners, is considered a strong asset
• Strong understanding of learning outcomes, assessment design, and academic standards aligned with undergraduate education
• Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills
