Job summary
Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. is seeking a licensed nurse to deliver vaccination services and patient care within a community pharmacy setting in Halifax. You will assess health status, administer vaccines, and coordinate with the pharmacy team to expand nursing services.
The role requires licensure, a nursing degree, and knowledge of immunization protocols. You will engage patients, support travel health initiatives, and participate in a team-oriented environment with flexible scheduling.
Qualifications
- Be a member of the Ordre des infirmiers et infirmières du Québec.
- Hold a DCS or bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Be familiar with the PIQ (Protocole d'immunisation du Québec) and travel health.
Responsibilities
- Assess health status and provide vaccines such as influenza and herpes zoster.
- Identify vaccines based on travel destination.
- Offer services related to hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia and anticoagulant therapy.
- Provide instruction on devices like glucometers and blood pressure monitors.
- Welcome patients professionally and work with the pharmacy team to develop nursing services.
