HealthCareCAN seeks a Nurse Practitioner for the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic in Edmonton. You will provide full-scope NP care for individuals with substance use challenges, under the guidance of an interdisciplinary team, focusing on compassionate, evidence-based treatment and patient-centered care.

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

The Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about providing evidence-based, compassionate care for people experiencing substance use challenges. This is an opportunity to practice at the full scope of your NP role while working alongside a highly skilled interdisciplinary team committed to recovery and patient-centered care.

As an NP with RAAM, you will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with substance use disorders and concurrent health concerns. You will lead complex clinical decision-making, prescribe and manage addiction-related therapies, creating appropriate community referrals and follow-up when necessary, and support patients through some of the most pivotal moments in their recovery journey. What makes this role unique is the ability to build meaningful therapeutic relationships while delivering timely, accessible care that removes barriers and creates opportunities for positive change. You will work closely with physicians, nursing, mental health clinicians, social work and community partners to ensure seamless care across the continuum.

Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.

Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care, working knowledge of Recovery Model, Harm Reduction, Stages of Change, Concurrent disorders and Trauma informed Care. Advocacy and health promotion are both central to this team and are likely 2 of the reasons that you pursued your NP.
