Who You Are

• Advanced knowledge of addictions medicine, concurrent disorders, and evidence-based treatment approaches across the continuum of substance use care, including intoxication, withdrawal management, stabilization, maintenance, and recovery
• Demonstrated expertise in opioid agonist treatment (OAT), anti-craving pharmacotherapies, withdrawal management, harm reduction principles, and recovery-oriented models of care
• Advanced clinical assessment, physical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, prescribing, and client management skills consistent with Nurse Practitioner scope of practice
• Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain therapeutic and collaborative relationships with clients, families, caregivers, interdisciplinary team members, and community partners through skilled communication, clinical assessment, interviewing techniques, and evidence-informed nursing practice
• Competency in motivational interviewing, brief intervention, counselling, health promotion, relapse prevention, and client engagement strategies that support recovery and wellness

What You’ll Do

• Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial and medical assessments
• Diagnose and manage substance use disorders and concurrent disorders
• Serve as the principal addictions medicine clinical resource within the RAAM program
• Provide advanced consultation regarding complex addictions and concurrent disorder presentations
• Incorporate culturally safe and trauma-informed approaches into all interactions.
• Recognize the impacts of colonization, intergenerational trauma, systemic racism, and social inequities
• Attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case conferences, treatment planning reviews, and other program-related meetings as required
• Support coordinated discharge and transition planning.
• Participate in regional planning initiatives
• Monitor program outcomes and quality indicators
• Provide formal and informal education to staff, internal and external partners, clients and families, and communities
• Support orientation and onboarding of new clinicians
• Maintain concise, accurate, and appropriate clinical documentation, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, correspondence, and discharge summaries in Practice Solutions Suite and/or Meditech within 24–48 hours of client interactions
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, workplace health and safety requirements, risk management procedures, and documentation standards
• Regional travel required

What You Bring

• Successful completion of a Registered Nursing Program with certification as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner
• Registered with CNO as a Registered Nurse Extended Class (RN EC) and in good standing
• BCLS-HCP or willing to obtain
• CNA certificate in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing/CPMHN(c)
• Valid Ontario Class G or G2 Driver's License
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of Nurse Practitioner experience in addictions medicine, mental health, primary care, or community health settings.
• Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset

Salary: $159,588.00 - $165,886.50
