Are you seeking an opportunity to further your clinical assessment and decision making skills while becoming a nursing leader?
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) within our Emergency Department (ED), you’ll have a chance to broaden your clinical expertise and develop nursing leadership skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to improve your understanding and interpretation of Radiology, while also gaining experience with technologies such as the POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound).
This expanded nursing role allows for a high level of autonomy and expert skill to formulate clinical decisions and appropriately manage patients in collaboration with the ED Physician.
You will be part of the leadership team for the ED, providing nursing leadership in knowledge-based practice, development of standards, processes and quality initiatives enhancing the care for ED patients, with the focus/majority of practice being clinical-based. This position also provides you the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of hospital corporate functions.

About this team:
Mount Sinai Emergency Department receives approximately 61,000 visits annually. The care delivery system is based upon a modified Primary Nursing model. Medical directives have been developed to promote and support autonomous nursing practice within the emergency specialty. This team has formal and informal supports in place for ongoing clinical learning and development.
