Job summary

The Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) blends advanced nursing with the authority to order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and perform procedures for common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The NP practices within a framework of evidence based care, health promotion and disease prevention.

The RN (NP) reports to the Nurse Manager of Tatagwa View, providing visiting services within the service area.

Qualifications

• Registered/eligible for CRNS RN (NP) registration.
• Full-time regular position with SUN union.
• Weyburn location; Tatagwa View service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within RN (NP) scope, including diagnostics and prescribing.
• Perform resident assessments and collaborate with families and teams.
• Support inter-professional collaboration and continuous quality improvement.
• Visit service sites within the Tatagwa View area.

Experience

• Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area

Education

• Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)

Licenses

• Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
• Valid Class 5 driver's license

Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence based care, health promotion and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with residents, families and other disciplines. This includes resident assessments, supporting inter-professional collaboration and participating in continuous improvement. The LTC NP reports directly to the Nurse Manager of Tatagwa View. The NP will work to full scope of practice of an RN (NP) and promotes quality health care outcomes and standards to ensure that residents of Tatagwa View receive a high standard of care. The NP will provide visiting services to sites within the service area. The service area is subject to change
