Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (RN/NP) to deliver comprehensive health care across acute care, primary health care, and urgent care settings. The role involves assessment, planning, and execution of evidence-based care under clinical governance.

Reporting to a program manager, you will blend nursing knowledge with autonomous authority to order tests, prescribe medications, and perform procedures while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in Watrous.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing (required).
  • Registered/eligible with CRNS as RN (NP).
  • Min. 3 years RN experience in Emergency, Acute, LTC, Continuing Care or Primary Care.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS, BCLS, CTAS.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan and evaluate health care services for patients.
  • Order diagnostic tests, prescribe meds, and perform NP procedures as allowed.
  • Collaborate with physicians within SHA nursing program objectives.

Job Description: This position encompasses a Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) NP that may work in acute care, long term care, primary health care, continuing care, urgent care or the emergency room. The position will report to and work under the direction of a manager in one of the designated program areas. This position is responsible for assessment planning, delivery and evaluation of health care services to patients. The RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based interventions, holism, health promotion, disease and injury prevention and the provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and acute and emergency services. The RN (NP) blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with their legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The practice involves working within the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) nursing program objectives, guidelines, and policies and procedures and building partnerships that support inter‑professional collaboration.
