Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide autonomous, evidence-informed care across continuing care, long-term care, primary health care, acute care, urgent care and emergency settings in Ile-à-la-Crosse.

Reporting to a manager, the NP will assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and coordinate care within the NP scope, working with a multidisciplinary team to support safe, culturally responsive and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years RN experience in Emergency, Acute, LTC, Continuing Care or Primary Care.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff.
• Ability to work autonomously within NP scope and SHA policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous, evidence-informed NP care across continuing care, LTC, primary health care, acute and urgent settings.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, order and interpret diagnostics, and evaluate care as MRP.
• Collaborate with clients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, person-centred care.

Job Description: This Nurse Practitioner (NP) role provides autonomous, evidence-informed care across continuing care, long-term care, primary health care, acute care, urgent care, and emergency settings. The position will report to and work under the direction of a manager in one of the designated program areas. Practicing within Saskatchewan Health Authority policies, CRNS standards, and legislated NP scope, the NP assesses, diagnoses, treats, prescribes, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, performs authorized procedures, and evaluates care for clients with common acute illnesses, stable chronic conditions, urgent and emergent needs, and health promotion priorities as the most responsible provider (MRP). The NP works collaboratively with clients, families, physicians, multi-disciplinary teams, community partners, and managers to support safe, person-centred, culturally responsive, and coordinated care.
