Job summary

Northern Health in Fort St. John is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the primary care team. This full-time role offers flexibility and the chance to provide longitudinal care to patients of all ages, attaching a patient panel within a collaborative, culturally safe environment.

Position Summary

Northern Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Fort St. John Primary Care team. This full‑time position offers flexibility and the chance to provide longitudinal primary care to patients of all ages. The NP will attach a patient panel and contribute to a collaborative, culturally safe care environment supported by physicians, other nurse practitioners, primary care assistants, and an interprofessional team.

Key Responsibilities

• Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for documentation and care coordination.
• Collaborate with a supportive team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.

Additional Qualifications (Detailed)

• Completion of BCCNM approved Master’s degree level nurse practitioner program.
• Eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self‑care and prognosis.
• Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer patients/clients/residents to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate.
• Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices; ability to introduce education and evidence‑based research.
• Ability to assess and recognize population health trends; ability to plan and implement strategies for population‑based prevention and health promotion.
• Ability to implement and evaluate planned change.
• Ability to supervise others and evaluate the care they deliver.
• Ability to lead a team and work within a team.
• Ability to self‑direct, interact, and adapt effectively with other professionals in complex, dynamic situations.

Salary Range

New Graduate NP - $149,382

1 Year Experience - $156,851

2 Years Experience - $164,320
