Extendicare is seeking a Resident Care Manager to plan, direct and evaluate quality resident care across our Manitoba facilities. You will lead nursing staff, coordinate assessments and care plans, and ensure care aligns with standards and regulations.

You will manage staffing, participate in quality improvement, and collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centred care while upholding our values and ethics. AI tools may assist in recruitment while humans review each application.

Qualifikationen

• A minimum of 2 years experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or long term care at supervisory/management level.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing in a multi-unionized environment.
• Experience with continuous quality improvement / risk management processes and person-centered care philosophy.
• Has knowledge of Manitoba health legislation and standards and MDS / Care Management systems.
• Demonstrated leadership with comprehensive nursing and health care knowledge for long term care.

Aufgaben

• Ensures resident satisfaction and promotes continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Assists nursing staff with assessments and care plans; develops, implements and reviews them.
• Assists with recruiting, hiring and termination of nursing staff in consultation with the Director of Care.
• Assigns, supervises, and disciplines nursing staff; schedules and replaces staff in absence of department head.
• Manages care issues related to residents, families and advocates; promotes interdisciplinary care.
• Acts as role model by demonstrating clinical expertise and comprehensive knowledge in resident care.
• Provides ongoing staff development and education to improve care quality.
• Supervises building operations in absence of senior management; maintains trust with vulnerable adults.
