Leadership Development & Quality Improvement
- Serve as a clinical resource to the cardiac staff
- Engage actively in unit huddles, quality committees, and program-level meetings
- Participate in the Patient Experience Partner (PXP) committee to promote engagement in program operations and support an environment of continuous improvement
- Support organization, departmental, and program-level initiatives and strategies
- Engage in quality strategies including accreditation, corporate/departmental audits, and quality improvement programs (QIPs)
- Monitor, track, and report on unit goals, trends, and SafePoint action items
- Participate in interviews and staff development activities
- Address and escalate patient and family concerns in collaboration with the interprofessional team
Patient Flow Optimization
- Coordinate department flow in collaboration with the PFN/ Charge Nurses and Triage Coordinators to ensure smooth departmental operations
- Attend and contribute to corporate patient placement meetings, program and departmental flow meetings, and organizational initiatives including JDR’s
- Prioritize cardiac operations and escalate concerns to maintain departmental flow, communicate surge plans, and flow challenges with interdisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with the Access and Flow team to effectively communicate and navigate departmental operations, ensuring alignment and coordination with broader organizational priorities and workflows
Resource Utilization & Operational Support
- Proactively review daily schedules and patient assignments to support program operations
- Obtain and submit requests for minor equipment purchases and track program equipment repairs
- Review and approve workload increases in collaboration with the Clinical Managers
- Performs additional responsibilities as required to support departmental or organizational needs
