Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks a Senior Director, Plant Controls Systems to define and lead the discipline's standards, governance, and long-term strategy across refurbishment, new build, and digital upgrades in the nuclear sector.

You will oversee a team of discipline managers, drive quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, mentor engineers, and partner with executives and external stakeholders to deliver world-class plant control architectures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of instrumentation & control engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading significant engineering departments and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with SCADA / PLC / DCS platforms and nuclear safety practices.
• Experience with CSA N-series and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and continuously improve discipline-specific standards, procedures, design guides, and best practices.
• Oversee the governance and oversight function, ensuring independence from daily operations and fostering evidence-based decision-making.
• Lead a team of Discipline Managers and manage project-related HR issues.
• Interface with senior executives, project partners, and external stakeholders to ensure effective engineering support.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineering staff, fostering knowledge transfer and collaboration.
