Qualifications

  • CMRITO registration is required.
  • CAMRT certification with current membership preferred.
  • Completion of a BCLS Level II: Basic Rescuer certification.
  • Related technologist experience in a hospital environment is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform nuclear medicine procedures using advanced systems and equipment.
  • Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to department policies and best practices.

Job Description

Department: Medical Imaging, Molecular Imaging

Reports to: Supervisor, Molecular Imaging

Wage Range: $39.20 to $58.80 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Rotating 8 hour shifts across weekdays, with occasional evening, and Saturday shifts as required

Status: Permanent Full Time

Position Summary

Join Medical Imaging at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging department in Canada! Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.

The molecular imaging team is comprised of medical radiation technologists, radiopharmacists, radiologists, cardiologists and physicians who all work together to provide the best patient care.

The Nuclear Medicine department was the first to participate in the administration of Yttrium 90 Therasphere together with the Vascular Interventional team for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

As the first department in Ontario to use Radium-223 to treat prostate cancer, a preceptorship program was developed for other Ontario hospitals to implement Radium treatment programs.

The PET imaging department performs the highest number of PET scans in Ontario.

UHN is one of three sites in southern Ontario to perform PET Rubidium myocardical scans

Nuclear Medicine at UHN was the first to perform Lutathera Lu-177 treatment for neuroendocrine tumours.

Duties
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform nuclear medicine procedures using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
  • Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
  • Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
  • Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
  • Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required
Qualifications
