Job summary

Belleville General Hospital, part of Quinte Health, is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic team. You will perform a full range of NM procedures, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging.

The role requires CM RITO registration, graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program, and flexibility to cover all shifts, including weekends and on-call; strong communication and teamwork are essential in

Qualifications

  • CMRITO registration in good standing is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program is required.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and imaging technology is expected.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts including weekends, STAT holidays and on call coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of Nuclear Medicine procedures following professional standards and department protocols.
  • Complete quality assurance procedures per standards.
  • Lead radiation safety activities including area wipe tests and contamination monitoring.
  • Receive and handle radiopharmaceuticals and maintain inventories.
  • Archive and retrieve imaging data within PACS.
  • Identify and report equipment issues to the Charge Technologist or Manager.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as directed by the Nuclear Medicine Physician.
  • Support orientation and training of new technologists.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient care excellence.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional team to support high-quality diagnostic services.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
