Job summary

The John Howard Society of Toronto is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate processing and reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. The role collaborates with the Finance Director and Executive Director to support program budgets, funder reporting, and compliance with audit requirements.

Responsibilities include managing accounts payable/receivable, GL maintenance, bank reconciliations, and producing monthly and funder reports.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or financial administration experience.
• Experience with funder reporting, compliance reviews, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly internal financial reports for Finance Director.
• Prepare funder-required financial reports and assist with Board reporting.
• Maintain internal financial controls and procedures and support program managers on financial requirements.
• Provide payroll processing support and review staff expense claims.
• Support development and documentation of financial procedures and controls.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with CRA and funder guidelines.
