Job summary

The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is hiring Non-Certified Supply Teachers for daily occasional relief when Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified Occasional Teachers are unavailable. You may be called to work with students from K-12 under the direction of the Principal/Vice Principal to support a safe, caring learning environment where all students can thrive.

This position offers flexible call-outs across 17 schools in Greater Sudbury and nearby communities, with no guaranteed

Non-Certified Supply Teachers may be called to work with students from K-12. Call-outs are as needed to do replacement work, there is no guarantee of hours. Under the direction of the Principal/Vice Principal, you will support students within the classroom to create a safe, caring learning environment where all students can thrive. Following the established timetable, you will provide supervision and guidance as students complete work/activities provided by the classroom teacher or administrator.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Successful completion of 2 years of post secondary education relevant to the position
• Proficient in oral and written English
• Experience working/volunteering with children and/or adolescents
• Experience working with students with differing needs and abilities
• Ability to ensure the safety and security of students
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information
• Ability to communicate and relate with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Ability to contribute effectively to a team
• Ability to express a positive attitude and enthusiasm with students
• Ability to exercise good judgement, patience, self-control, and perseverance when dealing with students
• Physical requirements include frequent walking and standing, bending and manual dexterity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Currently registered and completing a Bachelor of Education or Concurrent Education program leading to OCT Certification or awaiting certification by the Ontario College of Teachers
• A Catholic Baptismal certificate and/or a current Pastoral reference from a Catholic Priest
• Proficiency in oral and written French is an asset

Daily rate of pay: $178.62 - $285.75
