GTR Worldwide is seeking a capable supervisor to lead mechanical trades teams responsible for vehicle and equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations. You will ensure quality, safety, and efficient use of resources while guiding technicians on complex tasks.

The role requires hands-on supervisory experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to mentor staff. A pathway for growth and ongoing training is provided within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or trade certificate in a relevant mechanical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair or maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and safety standards; ability to enforce safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule daily activities of mechanics and apprentices, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and on-job training to team members.
  • Coordinate procurement and maintenance of tools, parts, and equipment and manage inventory levels.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other trades to plan projects and resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on crew performance, job status, and health and safety compliance.

Job Summary

Main Duties


  • Supervise and schedule daily activities of mechanics and apprentices, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.

  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and on-job training to team members.

  • Coordinate procurement and maintenance of tools, parts, and equipment and manage inventory levels.

  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other trades to plan projects and resolve operational issues.

  • Maintain records and prepare reports on crew performance, job status, and health and safety compliance.


Requirements


  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or trade certificate in a relevant mechanical discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Several years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair or maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • Practical knowledge of diagnostic tools, equipment maintenance practices, and technical schematics.

  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce safe work practices.

  • Proven leadership and communication skills with experience mentoring and developing staff.

  • Basic computer skills for managing work orders, inventory systems, and reporting.
