Job summary

GTR Worldwide is seeking HVAC technicians to perform installation, maintenance and repair of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems in commercial and residential settings in Canada. Two positions are available and travel to job sites is required.

You will diagnose faults, perform corrective work, read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and communicate findings to clients while adhering to safety standards and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship or post-secondary in heating/refrigeration/HVAC or related trade.
• Experience installing, servicing and repairing HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of electrical controls, refrigerant handling and system diagnostics.
• Ability to travel to job sites and communicate with clients professionally.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and connect HVAC/refrigeration units, ductwork, piping and controls per specs.
• Inspect, test, diagnose and repair compressors, motors, fans, valves, thermostats and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan work and execute tasks.
• Complete work orders and service reports and communicate findings to clients.

Job Summary

Main Duties

• Install, assemble, and connect HVAC and refrigeration units, ductwork, piping and controls according to specifications and codes.
• Inspect, test, diagnose and repair components such as compressors, motors, fans, valves, thermostats and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal tune-ups to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
• Recover, reclaim and handle refrigerants in compliance with regulatory and environmental procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals to plan and execute work.
• Complete work orders, maintenance logs and service reports and communicate findings and recommendations to clients.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or post‑secondary program in heating, refrigeration, air conditioning or a related trade.
• Demonstrated experience installing, servicing and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of electrical controls, refrigeration cycles, and system diagnostics.
• Familiarity with safe refrigerant handling practices and relevant environmental regulations.
• Physical ability to lift equipment, work in confined spaces, at heights and in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to travel to job sites and communicate professionally with clients and team members.
