Job summary

Lactalis Canada, headquartered in Brampton, seeks a Shipping Supervisor to manage shipping/receiving operations, drive cost effectiveness, safety, and scheduling. Night shifts with rotating coverage may apply, and cross-shift flexibility is required.

Located at the Brampton facility, this role leads the department, ensures adherence to health & safety standards, and collaborates with the site leadership team. Strong logistics and SAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree preferably in materials management.
• Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a supervisor directly involved in distribution, and in a unionized environment.
• Experience with distribution and logistics.
• Knowledge of the provincial transportation systems.
• Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Word & Excel, as well as business systems such as SAP.
• Strong inter-personal and communications skills.
• Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all shipments to customers by planning and tendering deliveries to external transportation carriers through the system (SAP).
• Provide leadership to improve health and safety performance by being a role model in safety and demonstrating due diligence through applying the corporate health & safety program elements.
• Evaluate and optimize internal storage capacity of finished goods and monitor warehouse conditions.
• Review month end variance reports with the Logistics & Planning Manager and adjust spending to avoid budget excess.
• Provide leadership and supervision to staff with feedback and development recommendations.
• Serve as a member of the location management team and participate in site production meetings and audits.
• Ensure resources for annual physical inventory and proper count procedures are followed.
• Support HACCP, GMP practices and safety programs; enforce safety regulations.
