Job summary

Riverstone Retirement Communities seeks an experienced RN to support the Director of Care in planning, delivering, and evaluating resident care quality. You will lead shifts, coordinate care plans, and supervise PSW/HCA staff to ensure high standards of safety and well‑being for residents.

Qualifications

• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Medication Administration Certification required.
• CPR and First Aid certification current and valid.
• Two+ years of experience, preferably in geriatric care.
• Strong communication and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Care in planning and evaluating resident care quality.
• Deliver and receive shift reports at start and end of each shift.
• Participate in care plans and ensure execution and revisions as needed.
• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments of residents.
• Monitor resident well‑being and document observations and symptoms.
• Administer or supervise medications as ordered by physicians.
• Assist residents with personal care when required.
• Document unusual symptoms and notify the physician when needed.
• Order, administer, and store medications per policies and standards.
• Provide orientation to new hires and supervise PSW/HCA staff.
• Manage department in director’s absence and liaise with other health care personnel.
• Assist in resident and family orientation and complete audits/reports.
