Job summary

Riverstone Retirement Communities in Ottawa is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to support the Director of Care and oversee nursing services for residents. The role includes planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care, as well as supervision of nursing staff and documentation of resident status.

The position requires ongoing patient assessments, medication administration, care-plan development, and collaboration with physicians and families.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in Ontario in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Medication Administration Certification required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications current and valid.
• Two years or more experience, preferably in a geriatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Care in planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of resident care.
• Deliver and receive shift reports at the start and end of each shift.
• Develop and review care plans for residents and ensure execution.
• Conduct initial and ongoing nursing assessments of residents’ needs, monitor wellbeing.
• Administer and supervise medication as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist residents with personal care and document observations and symptoms.
• Communicate with physicians, families and healthcare teams as required.
• Provide orientation to new hires and supervise PSW/HCA staff.
