Job summary

Kindera Living in Tecumseh, ON is seeking a part-time Night Personal Support Worker to provide high-quality physical and personal care to residents, under the Health and Wellness Manager. The role emphasizes compassion, safety, and adherence to care plans.

Applicants should have a recognized PSW program, be able to communicate clearly, and work collaboratively with the team. CPR/First Aid are preferred; a vulnerable sector check and current TB status may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized PSW program.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
• Empathy for the needs of seniors.
• Understanding of the nursing/health and wellness process.
• Willingness to update knowledge of changing regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Vulnerable sector screening and TB test results or Chest X-ray with references required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs according to the care plan.
• Monitor residents and report changes to Health and Wellness Manager.
• Provide housekeeping, laundry, and recreational activities.
• Document ADLs thoroughly.
• Ensure health and safety by following procedures.
• Interact courteously with staff, residents, families and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information including medications.
• Provide emergency first aid/care until appropriate medical care is available.
• Assist with dining service and resident admissions/discharges.
• Complete medication administration training and assist with medication administration.
