Job summary

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW program meeting Ontario standards and minimum 600 hours (class + practicum).
• Experience in long-term care is an asset.
• Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation is required.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties.
• Ability to read/write English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal and nursing care to residents per policies and routines.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming of residents.
• Encourage participation in activities and assist with transport to activities.
• Assist with meals and feeding as required; support nourishment delivery.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents and families, including palliative care.
• Participate in documentation, care plans, and care conferences.
