Job summary

FDI Services Inc. is seeking a Night Shift JM Millwright for the City of Edmonton Waste Management Centre Facility in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidate will safely perform Millwright duties in a facilities maintenance setting.

Responsibilities include reading diagrams and manuals, rigging heavy machinery, fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, and conducting maintenance and minor fabrication as required. Valid Alberta driver’s license and a JM certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Needs to be able to read diagrams, schematics and service manuals.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work and work at heights.
• Valid Alberta driver’s license and a 5-year abstract are required.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend diagrams and manuals to determine work procedures.
• Operate rigging equipment and move heavy machinery and parts.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors and connect couplings.
• Align and test equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Weld/fabricate as needed and manage replacement parts inventory.

Job description

FDI Services Inc. is currently seeking 1 (Night Shift) JM Millwright for our City of Edmonton Waste Management Centre Facility in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely executing Millwright duties in a facilities maintenance setting.

Responsibilities

• Comprehends diagrams schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Operates rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
• Understands how to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
• Align and test equipment to make any necessary adjustments.
• Performs preventative and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts as necessary.
• Periodically perform tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Successful candidates are required to have a valid Alberta driver's license and provide a 5-year driver’s abstract.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.

• Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to complete all pre-access training as identified prior to mobilization.
• Millwright JM certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.

Position Information

• Located at the City of Edmonton Waste Management Facility
• 12 hours of work shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
• 4/4 Rotation Schedule - Weekend shift rotations apply
• JM Rate $45.16/Hour / +$3.00/Hour for night shift premium = $48.16/hour
• Dual Certification Premium (if applicable)
