Job summary

XTL Transport, Logistics, Distribution is seeking an experienced NIGHT DISPATCHER/PLANNER to coordinate and monitor daily routes and ensure timely deliveries. You will maintain real-time communication with drivers, customers and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain service standards.

The role includes managing hours of service, ensuring compliance, and updating dispatch systems to support smooth operations. The 12-hour shift is 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM with hybrid work from Office/Home.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and satellite messages promptly.
• Manage productivity live using AS 400 tools and maintain dispatch status.
• Plan drivers in accordance with service level requirement of +98%.
• Respond to various types of operational issues including equipment breakdowns, driver re-assignments, load delays, or cancellations.
• Monitor road and weather conditions, keep drivers advised of inclement weather or road closures.
• Establish a plan for loads not meeting service commitments.
• Communicate service failures or delays to management and customers in real time.
• Ensure appropriate equipment is assigned to customers and trailer bank, ensure equipment commitments are not depleted.
• Complete yard checks, load security, heated load and in-active trailers monitored and reported.
• Relay information, obstacles, and discrepancies to operations team, manager, customer service, and other departments.
• Monitor for hazardous time-sensitive maintenance and assign equipment accordingly.

Responsibilities:

Driver Support

• - Ensure phones and satellite messages are answered promptly
