Job summary

Banff Caribou Properties is seeking a reliable Night Auditor for our Front Office team in Banff. You will balance nightly transactions, ensure accurate records, and deliver exceptional guest service while maintaining security overnight.

The ideal candidate works independently with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities, while staying guest-focused and calm under pressure. On-site role with varied shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Welcome late arrivals and assist with check-ins/outs and reservations.
• Respond to guest needs in a friendly, professional manner.
• Complete nightly audits, balance transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Review charges, payments, deposits and refunds for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate daily records and prepare reports for Accounts.
• Identify errors and follow through to resolution.
• Support guest safety and hotel security overnight.
• Perform system updates and basic administrative tasks.

Are you a natural night owl who enjoys working independently and keeping things running smoothly?

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. You’ll be the main point of contact for our guests overnight, balancing great guest service with accurate records, transactions and nightly audits.

Working independently, you’ll spot and resolve discrepancies, keep overnight operations running smoothly and ensure everything is ready for the Front Desk team the next day. This is a great fit for someone with a keen eye for detail, good judgement and a natural ability to solve problems and think on their feet, while keeping the guest experience at the forefront.

What you’ll do:

• Welcome late arrivals and assist with check-ins, check-outs, reservations and guest requests
• Respond to guest needs and calls in a friendly and professional manner
• Complete nightly audits, balance transactions and investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Review room charges, payments, deposits and refunds to ensure they have been processed accurately
• Maintain accurate daily records and prepare reports for the Accounts team
• Identify errors or inconsistencies and follow them through to resolution
• Support guest safety and hotel security throughout the night
• Respond calmly to unexpected situations, using good judgement to resolve issues or escape when needed
• Complete system updates and basic administrative tasks

What we’re looking for:

• Friendly, dependable and self-motivated, with a strong guest service focus
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers and transactions
• Good analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to spot discrepancies and find solutions
• Comfortable working independently overnight and making sound decisions when needed
• Calm and resourceful if unexpected situations arise, with good judgement around when to take action and when to escape
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach
• Good data entry and computer skills
• Previous front desk, night audit, accounting or customer service experience is an asset, but not essential
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
