Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Current BCLS/HCP certification required.
• RNAO/CNA or other professional association membership preferred.
• Minimum of one year recent experience in perinatal nursing.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and judgement to provide a full range of care in high acuity neonate care.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and team.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide care.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work.
• Commitment to ongoing learning, professional development and quality improvement.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, incident reporting systems, patient information systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered and evidence-informed care to neonatal patients.
• Collaborate with inter-professional team and assume a leadership role.
• Deliver a full range of care for patients with high acuity and complex needs.
• Adhere to standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario and organizational policies.
• Support families, plan care, and participate in discharge planning.
