Job summary

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is seeking an Employment Specialist to counsel newcomers and family members, guiding them through career decisions with online services.

You will work under the Senior Project Manager, delivering workshops, supporting job search activities, and connecting clients to pre-arrival programs and employer opportunities. Excellent communication and intercultural skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science.
• Career Development Practice Certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with immigrant job seekers to Canada is required.
• Experience in one-on-one employment service delivery is preferred.
• Knowledge of case management is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment counselling to newcomers and families to address employment needs.
• Assist clients in goal-setting, action planning and follow-up.
• Deliver employment webinars on labour market information, resume/cover letter writing, job search strategies, and interview skills.
• Collaborate with Job Developer to deliver employer connection activities.
• Link clients to other IRCC funded pre-arrival programs and regulatory bodies.
• Support virtual recruitment activities, career talks and job fairs.
• Review resumes and cover letters and assist in job search programs.
• Document client progress in secure databases for reporting and evaluation.
• Maintain statistics and records for program monitoring and budgeting.
