Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, a world‑class engineering services and nuclear organization, invites new graduates to join the Odyssey Program in Canada. This launchpad offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to diverse rail projects in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary.

You will develop skills across rail infrastructure, safety analyses, and power distribution while contributing to inclusive, global projects. Graduates will receive training, guidance, and a path to growth within a hybrid work culture

Qualifications

  • New graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (graduating in 2027).
  • Strong interest in learning and exploring new challenges, particularly in rail infrastructure, rail systems, track design, construction, and operations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in relevant industry‑standard software and engineering tools.
  • Detail‑oriented, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Currently holds a Valid Canadian driver's license (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Rail Infrastructure: Design and support railway track and infrastructure projects, including track layouts, engineering drawings, cost estimates, and construction support.
  • Safety and system assurance: Support safety analyses, compliance activities, and risk assessments to ensure rail systems operate safely and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Transit Power Distribution: Assist in the design of electrical power systems that supply trains, stations, and transit facilities, including technical calculations and equipment selection.
  • Systems Engineering & Integration: Coordinate and integrate multiple rail systems, support requirements management, interface coordination, and system testing activities.
  • Rail Control Systems: Support the design and implementation of signalling, train control, and communications systems.
  • Rolling Stock: Support the design, testing, and commissioning of trains and transit systems while helping ensure they meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.

Your role:

While working in the Rail, Transit S division at AtkinsRéalis, you could put your skills to work in one of these key areas:

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $61,900 - $80,000 annually) Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
