Jobtailor in Alberta is seeking a recent graduate or EIT to contribute to integrated mine and tailings planning, including volume calculations and plan stewardship. You will support productivity, safety, and sustainability through data analysis, CAD skills, and collaboration with field teams near Fort McMurray.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in Mining, Civil, or Geological Engineering, active or eligible APEGA registration, and a willingness to relocate within 60 km of Fort McMurray.

Qualifications

  • New graduate or recently graduated EIT.
  • Undergraduate degree in Mining, Civil or Geological Engineering.
  • Registered or eligible for membership with APEGA.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems.
  • Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
  • If residing outside Fort McMurray, willingness to relocate primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
  • Some roles may be safety sensitive.

  • Create and present plans and stewardships covering productivity, geological and geotechnical risks, water management, mining rates, and equipment capabilities.
  • Conduct field tours and observations to monitor plan execution.
  • Communicate with Operations and field personnel to support plan execution.
  • Devise new approaches and apply current processes in new ways.
  • Analyze technical data and draw conclusions from comparative situations.
  • Independently plan and conduct projects to improve mine efficiency.
  • Model safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Plan and organize reclamation and sustainability work for growing operations.
