Job summary

Richter Toronto is hiring a New Grad Staff Accountant in Audit. The position supports planning, preparation, and execution of accounting and tax-related tasks across client engagements, working closely with staff, seniors, and managers within the audit team.

The role involves assisting Canadian and international clients, with a path to CPA designation and exposure to diverse industries. A hybrid work arrangement is offered in our Downtown Toronto office.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, formulas), Word, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to develop creative solutions (include examples in your CV or cover letter)
• Must be interested in pursuing the CPA designation; enrolment or intention to follow the CPA track is preferred
• Working knowledge of accounting or tax software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep) is an asset
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation in compliance with accounting standards, while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies and regulatory requirements
• Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger with precision
• Leverage accounting software and Excel to facilitate reporting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate effectively with team members on client engagements and internal accounting projects
